노래방

We had 노래 동아리 on Friday. The teacher is really pretty. And it was her birthday on the day we had our 노래 동아리 Orientation. We did a self introduction and the club is mostly made up of DBSK, BB and SS501 fans. Keke. Happy. When we ended the orientation, which lasted like only 45mins max, I saw someone writing teacher's name wrongly. Keke. There are some loud peopple in the club which i really don't like. I hope I can have a change in perception of her after some interaction in the club. Oh, do you know that our language centre has recording studio for us to record songs? It's so cool. I agree that the school is really rich!!

Had a nap after the 노래 동아리.

Decided that I still have some time. So I had decided to be adventurous and I took a bus to Lotte Mart. Yeah. It's quite fast actually. Bought some simple groceries and took the bus home again. The bus ride home was super long. It took about 45mins I think. The bus went from Seoul Station to Nandaemun to Myeondong back to Seoul station then back. The bus was packed as it was off work timing. Also, when I was about to alight. This mentally diasbled "kid" stretched his leg into the sit the moment I stood up. I got a shock for that. I was unable to move out properly. Had to wait till he sat down then I can sit down properly.

At 7pm, I met my classmate for some dinner together. We went to Hanwoori dormitory for their orientation. In the end, we were too bored and decided to go to Hongdae for dinner at Hotsun Chicken. We had satistying dinner, eating 2 different sets and drinking beer. keke. Yums!!! We chatted for quite some time about stars before leaving.

After that, we walked around Hongdae and I had those super high icecream. It cost me 1500Won for that. As i walked, the ice cream melt. In the end, My cone was covered totally with tissue. Keke.

Then, we decided to go to 노래방. It's onlt 20000Won for 1h for a room. There's 5 of us and it's just 4000Won each. The other 4 are taiwanese. The others went back to dorm after dinner. Take a look at the pictures below. We had a room that can be watched by others when we are singing.

The others singing.

The TV screen and beautiful decoration.

Yups, we ended our singing at 12am then went home after that.

Happy!!!!~~~

Shabu Shabu

Met up with Minji for dinner around 신촌 area for Shabu Shabu.

This cost us 8000Won each. It's alot. I love the fried rice at the end. It's delicious. keke.

We spent almost 2.5hours in the shop eating and catching up. It was fun catching up with Minji. Thanks for helping us out all the time:)

I had stomachahe after eating and i ran all the way home to use the toilet. I think it's not due to the Shabu shabu but the food I ate the day before. Keke.

Yups, till then~~

Green Tea Latte

No pictures for this post. Sorry.

Met up with Unnies for dinner near Ewha Area. We had roadside food in a stall. The place is old but it serves good food. In the end 3 of us ate only 10 000 Won. We had 떡볶이하고 손대하고 꾹면하고김밥. Cheap yet good. Satisfied.

We headed to Starbucks for some chit chatting session. I had green tea latte again. Unnie went to upsize mine so that hers can be free. OMG. I was so full after that. But, the green tea latte was good. I had 3 green tea latte in a week. I am still not sick of it. More green tea latte please. Keke.

Unnie told me she wants to bring me around if I have time. She wants to bring me to places where stars always appear. Haha. Unnie bought me a swaroski crystal pencil from her Europe trip too. So nice of her. Unnie gave me spelling "test" too. Haha.

Yep, that's all for that day...keke....

Cafe experience

Sorry for the late post.

Daphne and I went for the Dance orientation yesterday. It was just for 30minutes. The purpose of the orientation was to collect 5000Won from us. When we just entered the dance studio, we saw this slightly plump lady standing near the teach-in-charge. We thought she was the dance instructor. That was not the image of a Kpop dance instructor we had in mind. Then, we also thought that she may be a pro, like don't judge a book by it's cover. However, we were later told that the dance instructor will only come in 2 weeks later. Phew!! The teacher-in-charge also checked with us whose dance we would like to learn too. I wonder what kind of dance we will be learning. I hope it wont be too difficult.

As we had too much time to spare, once again. We decided to go to onoe of the cafes in Gangnam to do our homework and revise our work too. We met a student from Ewha at the cafe too. She was just sitting next to us and she took the initiative to take to us as she saw one of our books having the school name's on it. She even gave us her phone number so that we can contact her if we need any help in school. Such a nice person:)

The cafe we went to. A Twosome Place.

Green tea latte at 4800Won.

The cookies and cheese cake we shared at 4500Won. It taste different from our oreo cheesecake. It's quite nice.

The points card we got from the cafe. I've got to check what benefits we will get from having this card. Keke. I love to collect cards. Keke...so aunty.

At around 6.15pm, we cleared up and went to the Artbox. On the way there, we saw those "photo" stands and we took from 2 of them. Take a look. These photos are sent to your email after you have taken them.

Our first picture.

The next one. Just outside Artbox. The artbox logo cant be captured, thus we had to write it ourselves. Cool?

Check this out...

Search for the moon

Went to Nol Bu Bu for dinner.

The place we went for dinner. This shop has lotsa branches around.

The side dishes. The kimchi has gone bad:(

The main course. We ordered ramen to go with it too. Cost us 6500Won each.

After dinner, we tried to take a bus home. And we took the bus from the wrong direction. We ended at some ulu-fied place, dark and cold and we did not know where to go. Lucky there was this passenger on the bus we knew that we were lost and offered to help us. He brought us to the bus stop to return to gangnam. I think we were actually very brave to follow him, considering that the place was dark and chilly. And there's no bus stop sign at that place. In the end, we took the subway from gangnam back to ewha.

Tiring and full day.

Time for class......

We've got a handphone now

Yes. We've got a phone now. Now we can tell people we have a handphone number. As I learn about numbers the last lesson, I just said I do not have a handphone, I can only give my room number. I finally got a handphone number now. The number will not be available until tomorrow afternoon though. Looking forward:) Now I can say this: 한국 핸드폰은 있어요. 핸드폰 번호도 있어요.

Met Daphne's friend, Sooyoung at 11am. She brought us to Yongsan I'Park Mall to buy our handphone. We went there by bus. Going there by bus is so much faster. The ride is definitely lesser than 30mins. Travelling by bus is so much faster. We also found ways to get to the Lotte Mart by bus:) We do not have to carry our heavy groceries in the underground anymore:)

At Yongsan, the moment we stepped in, all the salesman started talking to you, asking you to look at their stuff. It can be daunting if you are alone. At level 8, we saw many wedding ceremony going on. Pretty brides of course. We got our handphones at Level 9.

Take a look at my phone.

The exterior. Anycall. 2nd hand phone at 110 000Won. With sim card, it cost 120 000Won in total. It's produced on 20100109.

The interior. Should I personalise it?

After buying the phone, we went for lunch around the area too.

Our lunch place.

While waiting to be called, we took some pictures outside.

You can find the tissue and cultery in the drawer at the side.

Woah. Here's our lunch. I have no idea what's its call. It cost us 7000won each. Filling lunch.

With the side dishes.

We bidded goodbye to Sooyoung and went to COEX to "shop". We went into almost all the bookstores and stores which sells cute stuff.

Once again, I bought "rubbish" again. I found a friend for Momoi. She is Cooky. Take a look. And I also bought cute chops which I can chop into my notebooks:)

Momoi friend, Cooky at 4500Won.

Many chops at 2500Won each.

Went for tea at Red Mango. It's a place you have to visit. The yogurt is really delicious. 맛있어요.

Waiting to be called. Waiting for the beeper to beep.

Our green tea shave ice with yogurt. There's mochi, banana, almond and red bean in it. Cost us 8700Won.

After tea, we walked back into a bookstore. A super big bookstore. We even went to the children books section to look at their books. Flipped through the Idol magazine too. Full of pictures. Then we went to the English section. We saw a book title "Smart Choice", however, I find that it's not really a smart choice to buy it. There's better books. And after that, we went to the Korean section. That section is actually very small as compared to the others. I must say buying korean language books here is so much cheaper.

Left the place, walked around again, trying to find those keyboard stickers for my laptop but we can't find any:(.

Went for dinner. I saw someone who looked like YS, but a thinner version. Whaha.

My dinner. 비빔명 at 5000Won. Ate like only half of it only. Wasn't hungry at all during dinner time. Ate too much throughtout the day.

Came back to dormitory. 22 stops from COEX back. Daphne went to look for a strap for her handphone and after that we went to Orange Mart before heading back.

Charging my phone....quick....!!!!

Volunteering in a foreign country

Spent half a day at a day care centre playing the kids. I was assigned to Team A, together with an American and a guy from Scotland. One of them is here to teach English, who has been here for 26months already. He will be travelling for another 2 months around before returning. As for the Scotish boy, he is here to learn Taekwondo. 3 boys were assigned to us. All of them aged 11. They can speak minimal English and they are super hyperactive. They can NEVER sit still. Lucky a Korean girl came along to help us. She managed to keep the boys in control. I think it's due to language barrier thus the boys misbehaviour.

After introducing one another, we went to make Scottish Egg. Some process!!

The food already prepared waiting for us to continue the process.

The boys busy coating the hard boiled egg with egg and flour.

Another picture of them busy at work.

He is peeling the shell off the egg. Finally he got cooperative and allow me to take a picture of him.

Frying the Scotish Egg.

Scotish Egg waiting to be fried. Who made them all so round?

Tada....here is the answer. This boy did it. All the teachers say he can be a cook in future. This boy is really obedient out of the 3. He bothers to help out and also clean up after that:)

Some of them were ready to be eaten and some of them still "bathing" in oil.

Enjoying their fruit of labour. All 3 said it was delicious. Other than these, we had bread, grapes and coke. I have to mention that the grapes in Korea is really different. The skin is easily removed from the flesh. Like pop..the skin is off.

After lunch, we played games with the kids. The first game was Gesture game. It was interesting to watch how the kids imitate one another. The next game was Ping Pong King. The team which can keep the ping pong ball on the bat the longest wins. After game session, we ended off with the boys and some groups took photo with their kids. Our kids refuse to take picture:(

The boys busy at work. Since they refused to take a team photo, Daphne took a photo of them at play.

Kids at work.

More kids at work.

Daphne and I. Evidence to show that we were there!!

This young Korean girl helped us throughout the whole session:)

We took a group photo with the kids and off we go. Some of them went off, and the rest of us went for casual chat in a cafe around Hongdae area. Ooh...we know a law oppa today. At first we were saying he look nerdy, then later we realised he studies law. Wahaha. We really mean huh?

This is my green tea latte from the cafe at 4000Won. It's really delicious.

Since it was still early, we went to Lotte Mart to buy instant rice for the next week. I love going to supermarket:) Shall just take the picture of the food when I'm going to eat them. Too lazy to take each individual food I bought.

Ate this chicken thingy for dinner. We shared a big one at 2000Won per cup. Sorry, I'll take a picture of the stall another time. It was raining when we went to that store. Oh, this store is along Ewha shopping street.

How can that chicken be filling? We went to eat ricecakes from the ahjuma store we went to a few days ago. Other than the ricecake (2500Won), we shared another plate of fried food, like the one we had before (2000Won).

Satisfying cheap dinner:)

Finally going to get a phone tomorrow:)

Ciao~~
